My Travel Story

by: Zoe Cramer Start Date: Sep 19, 2016 - End Date: Jun 15, 2017
Hi everyone!!
We are three high school students, Carina Martinez, Zoe Cramer, and Camille Donald, who are going to do volunteer work in Udaipur, India. We are using a program from the volunteer organization GoEco, where we will spend the first part of our days helping with students  at the school for hearing impared or the special needs school, and the second half of the day we will be working in the slums, with the slums outreach program. Most kids that live in the slums can not afford appropriate schooling and we will be giving informational lessons to the kids, allowing for both a learning orpprotunity for us and the kids in the slums. In the school for the hearing impaired we will be learning basic sign language to be able to communicate and assist the students. At the special needs school we will be working with childen with autism and special needs, we will be assisting qualified teachers to teach the students in a supportive and caring environment. We are estatic for the opprutunity to go to India, for both the volunteer work and the enriching cultural expierence India offers to all travelers. This is heightened by the fact that we come from a small town in Northern Caifornia, that sees little cultural diversity. We all maintain high levels of acemdemic excellence, participate in multiple sports and clubs, and other extracurricular activities.

Thank you to all, that donate and contribute to what we hope will be a trip of a lifetime.
