My Travel Story

by: Caroline Akinyi Start Date: Jul 27, 2025 - End Date: Sep 4, 2025
My daughter Emily went to Saudi Arabia to work as a house help having been connected to a family there by one of the local agents in Uganda. she went to there mid january 2025. The host family was initially kind to her but after an incident in march where she accidentally broke a flower vase while doing her cleaning, she was beaten and locked up in her room for two days without food and water, after this incident she was constantly harassed beaten and starved, they withheld her pay and her passport was taken from her and I lost contact with her in April, I can only assume the worst, I’ve made effort through the embassy to no avail. Emily is a sister, Emily is a mother to Ian, Emily is my third born. I have linked up with some Ugandan nationals living in Saudi Arabia and together with her uncle, we intend to travel to Saudi Arabia on the 2nd of September 2025 to bring my daughter home. As a mother I have been unable to sleep properly, eat or even carry out my day to day activities, my pressure is high and I can only rest the day I’ll hold my daughter in my hands. I am a small business owner myself and when Emily left we had such high hopes that she could change the fortunes of this family. I am seeking your help financially and morally to help me get my daughter back home

ABOUT EMILY

My daughter Emily is 31 years old, the third-born among my six children. From a young age, Emily has always stood out for her kind heart, strong faith, and determination to make something meaningful out of her life, even in the face of challenges.

She began her education at Mengo Primary School and later joined Nabisunsa Girls' Secondary School for her secondary education. Though she had the potential to go further academically, we were not able to afford college at the time. That did not stop Emily. Instead, she chose a different path, one that showed her resilience and resourcefulness.

Emily decided to train in hair and makeup, a skill she took to naturally. In 2019, through her own hard work and savings, she opened a small salon, which she ran with dedication. Her salon quickly became more than a business, it was a place where her clients felt cared for, encouraged, and transformed. She loved what she did and always served people with a smile and a listening ear.

In May 2018, Emily was blessed with a son, Ian, who has brought so much joy into our family. From the moment he was born, Emily has done everything in her power to raise him with love, guidance, and stability. He has been her greatest motivation.

In mid-2024, a close friend introduced Emily to job opportunities in Saudi Arabia and helped her get in touch with some agents. After much prayer and reflection, she decided to take that path, hoping to create a better future for herself and her son.

Emily is a staunch Christian and a devoted member of her church. She is a warm, generous, and deeply caring young woman who touches lives wherever she goes.

Our family is urgently seeking help to find out what happened to Emily. She is a devoted mother, a beloved daughter, and a light in the lives of so many. We are praying for her safety and well-being and we will not rest until we bring her home.
