My Travel Story

Hi my name is Emily and I’m in my second year of university studying psychology. In June 2020, I will be going to Bali for 4 weeks to take part in a mental health placement with slv global.

The focus of this placement is global mental health and aims to benefit communities that are in need of extra support within the mental health sector. It will also provide me with the chance to gain hands on work experience. 

We will concentrate on mental health rather than illness, using activities to promote positivity by bringing people together. During the placement I will work as an activity support worker which involves running therapeutic activity sessions for individuals living with a range of mental health issues and disabilities, as well as teaching English. 

This will be a very challenging and immersing experience. One which I hope I can really make a difference in. Thank you for reading this, I would greatly appreciate any donation that you can give towards this as it will make a huge difference!
