My Travel Story

by: Kaitlyne Commanda Start Date: Mar 17, 2025 - End Date: Sep 16, 2025
My upcoming study abroad trip is to British Columbia and is an incredible opportunity to not only deepen my understanding of Art History but also to immerse myself in a new culture and gain invaluable global perspectives. This experience will directly impact my education by providing firsthand exposure to Renaissance art and architecture, allowing me to study masterpieces in their original context. It will also significantly enhance my career prospects by developing crucial cross-cultural communication skills, adaptability, and a broader understanding of European history and culture, making me a more competitive and well-rounded candidate for museum curation or art conservation roles.
Beyond my personal growth, I am passionate about preserving cultural heritage. By studying in Italy, I hope to learn about their conservation techniques and contribute to local efforts in understanding and protecting historical sites.
This trip is deeply meaningful to me because I have always been fascinated by the Italian Renaissance and the profound impact it had on Western art. I chose Italy because it is the epicenter of this artistic movement and offers unparalleled access to iconic works and expert knowledge.
Your generous donation will directly support my tuition fees, accommodation costs in Florence, and travel expenses to visit key historical sites like Rome and Venice. By contributing to my journey, you are investing in my future as an art historian and enabling me to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to contribute to the preservation and understanding of art for future generations. Thank you for your support!
