My Travel Story

Hi my name is Claire and I am a third year Psychology student at Anglia Ruskin Uniersity, who apsires to become a Clinical Psychologist. I have been given the opportunity to work in Sri Lanka for 3 months learning valuable experience and skills in my field.

During my project stay I will be preparing therapeutic activities in hospital wards with service users in different stages of their recovery. I will also be working in a variety of other projects including teaching English to young adults and children from the local community (some travel for miles for our lessons).

SLV is partnered with a number of Children’s Development Centres and during my stay I will be providing extracurricular English lessons to primary schools and after school clubs.  

Furthermore, I will have the opportunity to work in challenging environments such as youth detention centres and running activities at centres working with people with different specific needs.

Any donations given will go towards, accomodation, flights, food, supplies and resources in projects.
