Georgia’s Teaching in Thailand Fund
My Travel Story
On the 26th of June this year I will be travelling solo to a small town in Thailand called Hua Hin to teach English to children for three weeks. I believe that every child should have access to a quality education, no matter what their circumstances are. I am currently training to be a primary school teacher at Plymouth Marjon University and it would be so appreciated if you could help me on my journey.
Teaching abroad is something that I have always been interested in and IVHQ have provided me with an opportunity to gain some experience whilst making a real difference to local communities. I am currently in the middle of completeing a TEFL qualification which will mean that I am fully qualified to teach English in a foreign country.
This experience will have a significant impact on my future career by giving me an insight into what education looks like around the world, allowing me to develop my teaching skills, gaining experience in cultural exchange, and supporting local communities where access to English lessons are few and far between. Being a volunteer teacher, I will be able to work alongside teachers from Thailand and learn valuable skills such as adapting to different learning environments and working with deprived children.
By donating to my fundraiser, you will be helping to provide valuable resources, experiences and materials to children and communities that would rarely get to experience such things.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story!
