I’m raising funds for a volunteer trip to South Africa, where I’ll be contributing to two areas I care about deeply: wildlife conservation in Kruger National Park, and education support in rural communities.

While my academic background is in Electrical Engineering, over the years I’ve found the most meaning in quiet, hands-on work that helps animals and people. I’ve volunteered in the past with an NGO in India for a year, helping with educational support for children, and more recently took part in a sea turtle conservation program in Puerto Rico, where I assisted with nest monitoring and hatchling tracking along the coast.

That experience in Puerto Rico reminded me of how much I value being part of community-based work and caring for animals in real, practical ways. It has encouraged me to continue on this path and deepen my involvement in service and conservation.

South Africa is a meaningful next step. It combines the things I care about most  working with animals, contributing to education, and learning from local communities. I’ll be part of a wildlife conservation team in Kruger, and also spend time volunteering in local schools, where support for students and teachers is much needed.

I chose South Africa because of its incredible biodiversity and strong community spirit. I’m not going as a tourist, but as someone who wants to listen, help where I can, and grow through the experience.
