AHOY BRITAIN!
My Travel Story
My name is Sean Seager, and I am taking my best friend on a once in a lifetime trip for her 40th.
Here's the jist. Ashley had all the makings to live a long, healthy, and happy life. I know because I've known her since she was 21. She had it all planned out. Get the family, have the kiddos, be the PTA parent, but when she was 26, a freak accident landed her in the ER. Without a proper diagnosis, Ashley became septic and began a fight that she's never really recovered from.
Ashley's emergency visit resulted in a vast shift of everything she had planned for or known. Since 2011, Ashley has had over 30 operations. Some major operations were done where doctors had to remove her colon. She lives today with severe limitations, but in remission of Crohn's Disease.
I cannot state enough how excited I am to write that she lives today. There were many visits to the ER or stays in the hospital since 2011 where I've had to prepare for final goodbyes. Like the Super Trooper she is, she remains. She fights each day to be here and for what she lives with now.
She is without a doubt one of the most courageous spirits I've ever had the privilege of knowing. She's one of a kind, and I adore her.
Due to Ashley's medical maladies, she's on disability. I'm sure others may already know, but by having disability, this inevitably prevents her from working. If she chose to work, which she has contemplated many many many times over, she would lose her disability coverage. There is no way for her to do that as her medications alone cost upwards of $100k each year.
This campaign is how I hope to help make her 40th celebration just a little bit better. For her birthday, I would love to take her over to England and on a cruise. During the trip, we will be able to visit Ireland, Scotland, Netherlands, Belgium, and France. This is something her and I have always dreamed about doing. But as kids with limited resources, that never seemed possible. Now, with time, effort, and a solid foundation of savings, we are finally able to make this a reality. I have worked very hard to save as much as I can, but my funding is limited. I am hoping this campaign will allow her to have a once in a lifetime experience. I want to try and let her feel like money doesn't exist. I want her to be able to buy memorabilia, buy souvenirs for her loved ones, go on any excursion, find restaraunts she can "actually" eat at. I want her to just have FUN and hopefully forget about the usual struggles that take place.
If you have the means, will you help?
