.) How will this impact your education or career? This will effect not only my education but my daughters and any audience we end up building in the process because we plan to vlog and keep a strong social media presence to share all our experiences and new found first hand knowledge! Outside of that my daughters father is part Samoan and Yakima tribe native american she knows nothing about her cultures or where her roots come from as he doesn't know much about it either. I would love for her to never wonder who she is or where she comes from whether it's her directly or her ancestors!
.)How will you make a difference in the community? By creating a platform to share the things we learn we plan to (hopefully) spread knowledge to minimize separation between cultures or judgement due to ignorance.
.) I'm passionate because I believe that knowledge truly is power and the more understanding we have of the other people in the world the more likely we are to be able to solve our issues without many difficulties, to see each other and have respect for each persons individuality and culture pertaining to what makes them different & unique in a world full of millions!
.) as I've stated these first two trips will be for my daughter to learn her culture and history first and foremost!
.) this is meaningful to me because it provides me more than one opportunity I didn't have growing up myself. My daughter knowing and understanding who she is is the first major reason. The second would have to be the educational value that comes from real world experiences. I just believe they top most academic experiences and truly want my daughter to be able to explore the world and know exactly where she wants to be who she wants to be and where she wants to be. The third reason is to expand people's minds to things that are foreign to them in regards to other peoples lifestyles and habits, which can be influenced a lot by culture. I'm hoping in bridging some gaps in or social structure as humans by taking one more thing out of the unknown/misunderstood category to hopefully make it easier for people to relate to those who may seem very different but have a lot of commonalities .
