My Travel Story

by: Προκόπης Κατωτριάτης Start Date: Apr 2, 2018 - End Date: Jun 30, 2018
I live in one of the poorest regions in EU, in North Aegean, and i see that we have these problems. The first one is that our budget is short and besides that i wouldn't say that we are managing it in the right way. About the second, we as country have enough taxes that create an negative sentiment about making new investment and negative conditions for companies to continue to remain open. As an island region we get to pay less than other regions in our country but this not helps at all. Our regional policy is not focusing on the problematic areas and this creates enclaves of inequality. This system is a vicious circle that creates more and more inequality and exacerbates the consequences of the crisis. I want to make similar research in other EU countries in that field to understant why this happens and see what can we do about it. I will visit some of the most expensive regions, and some of the poorest as well to interview people and organisations and extract my results. This will help me finish my masters degree in Human Geography im curently attending. I want to make an impact in our common system, i want a better future for us all.
