As a Cultural Anthropology major, my studies focus on understanding how people express identity, meaning, and values through traditions, objects, and creative practices. The Made in Italy: Florence program is a perfect extension of this focus because it allows me to experience cultural production firsthand.

Florence offers a unique environment to explore the intersection of heritage, identity, and innovation — from Renaissance art and architecture to contemporary fashion and artisan craftsmanship. Through site visits, workshops, and cultural immersion, I’ll be able to apply anthropological theories to real-world contexts, deepening my understanding of how culture is created and shared.

These insights will directly inform my academic work at UCSD, especially in my upper-division courses and potential senior research projects. Beyond the classroom, this experience supports my long-term career goals in brand management, UX design, and cultural storytelling by giving me a global perspective on how culture shapes aesthetics, design, and identity.
