When I was 6 years old we came to the Netherlands as refugees. My parents had a hard time during the time, because we used to move a lot. When I was around 10 years old I wanted to get a nice job when I would grow up to give back to my parents. Right now it is that time. I am almost graduated and would like to take the opportunity to accept the internship.

After applying to about 40 companies abroad, I finally got accepted on one of them which is located in the Caribbean. I am 24 years old and have always lived with my parents to this point. I would really like to go abroad and discover new places, but financially it is very hard. My parents receive payments from the government, because they are incapacitated. This means that it's very hard to find financial support to fund my internship.

Currently I am a student at Fontys University in Eindhoven, the Netherlands and I am doing a bachelor's degree in computer science. This internship will provide me with a great opportunity to improve my skills in relation with UX / UI design and UX research. I will be able to dig deeper into the iterative design process and learn about decision making during certain situations. I will gain valuable insights in the Human Centered Design process that I will be able to use for the rest of my career and be able to work within a group of experts.

I have searched for all kinds of scholarships, but it is very hard to find one. My school only provides scholarships if you travel within Europe.

It would be a shame to let this opportunity pass, because of financial reasons. This is currently my only option, since I am not in contact with any other company. So I will miss the next deadline if this one doesn't work out.

After all don't feel obligated to donate. I don't like to ask for money, but I found this website and I am thinking: Why not just give it a shot?

So if it all works out I will travel to Aruba at around 10th of April. The income from this funding will go towards flight tickets, accommodation and food. To keep you guys updated I will tweet regularly on my twitter about my trip and experiences on the island. I might even start vlogging if I can hire a camera from my school during the internship.

I would like to thank any of you who donated.
