My Travel Story

For the first 15 years of my life, my grandmother was my world. She raised me, cared for me, and loved me unconditionally when life was at its hardest. She was more than just a grandparent—she was my best friend, my safe place, my second mother.

Now, she's on her deathbed in India.

Over the past 1.5 years, she has suffered seven heart attacks. The doctors have told my family that she doesn't have much time left. And I haven’t seen her—not even spoken to her—for six long years.

She doesn't have a phone. She lives in a remote village, far away from access to the kind of care and comfort she truly deserves. And I’m in the UK, studying on a student visa, trying every single day to build a better life—for her.

I left home in pursuit of education and opportunity, hoping one day I could give her a better life. I dreamed of bringing her comfort, pride, and joy in her old age. But time has betrayed me.

No matter how hard I work, how much I try to save, I simply cannot afford the cost of traveling back home in time. Flights or sudden travel expenses are beyond my reach right now.

All I want is one final chance to sit by her side, to hold her hand, to tell her I love her, and to thank her for everything she did for me when I had nothing. One last hug. One last goodbye.

If you’ve ever had someone in your life who meant everything to you—someone whose love shaped the person you became—you’ll understand why this means the world to me.

Please, help me reunite with my grandmother in her final moments. Every little bit will bring me closer to her before it’s too late.
