My Travel Story

Hi everyone! I first thought of the idea to go on an exchange to France two years ago, and the more I learned about France, the more excited I got! Right now I can't even imagine not going because I have already spent so much time thinking about the adventure, dreaming and planning. France is one of the most beautiful places in the world with georgeous cities and an adventure waiting to happen!
        I've wanted to go to Europe since I was just a little kid because my grandpa grew up there, he always said one day he would take me there but he passed away when I was only seven years old. And so I want to do this trip not only for me but to bring him along with me as I discover the place he spent his childhood.
       I initially picked France because I have studied French since kindergarten so I will not have a problem communicating there and because it's warmer than Canada. But it's not only that, I want to go next fall when I'm in grade ten so I would have the experience of a new high school in a different country where I then get to learn and experience all the culture while also making new friends at school! Outside of school I would be living with a host family and learn the responsibilities of their routines and have a home away from home. Ultimately experiencing what my grandpa would have shown me if he was still here with me today.
      The city I will be staying in is also very important to me because in future I have two possibilities of career paths at the moment: architect or artist, and both careers would be influenced and inspired by the absolutely amazing French cities and rustic streets that I've heard so much about! With this in mind, this trip would also give me a huge head start in getting into colleges or universities and possibly influence my future career forever! 
While in France I want to make the absolute most of my time there and hopefully influence their community, just as much, as they will give me the experience of a lifetime. This trip is my dream. My only problem is that I don't have nearly enough money, and that is where you come in! Please donate and give me the best gift anyone has ever given me!
