My Travel Story

Some of you reading this may know me, but hello to those of you who do not. I'm Abigail Arnold and am heading into my Sophmore year at Western Washington University. I will be studying abroad this Winter quarter 2023 to Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, Mexico to study Language, Culture & Learning in Schools and Communities. I am super excited for this experience. I have grown up playing soccer all my life and traveled to spain a few years back. I had an incredible experience playing soccer and interacting with the spanish language and culture. That experience I truly believe is what opened up my eyes to my interest in the spanish language and culture. This last year I made a truly tough decision with all good intentions for my future and decided to no longer continue with soccer but rather to focus on work and majoring in Physical Education with a minor in Spanish where I then hope to continue my path to get a masters. This program here will help me earn credits toward the ELL and Bilingual Endorsement. In this program we will travel to several elementary schools as well as learn about the Baja California Sur community and history. I have always been brought so much joy working with children. I hope to really insert myself into the spanish culture while also working with children and helping them to succeed and have lives full of brightness around them.
