Hello everyone,

My name is Corey Jones, and I have an incredible dream that I am hoping to make a reality with your support. I am embarking on a life-changing journey to Japan, where I will attend SAMU Language School in Shinjuku, Tokyo, and immerse myself in the rich culture of this beautiful country. My ultimate goal is to build a successful career as a musician in Japan, a country known for its vibrant and diverse music scene.

Why Japan?

Japan has always held a special place in my heart. Its unique blend of tradition and modernity, the warmth of its people, and its deep appreciation for the arts have captivated me. By learning the language and immersing myself in the culture, I aim to fully understand and integrate into Japanese society. This experience will not only help me grow as a musician but also as a person.

My Journey Thus Far

Music has been my passion for as long as I can remember. Growing up, we always had a piano in the house, and my mother played several instruments. This inspired me to start playing violin at age 7. My life significantly changed as I progressively learned how to play more instruments, including piano and guitar, cultivating a deeper love and appreciation for creating music. With over 15 years of experience, I've performed at local venues and festivals like the Sumter Iris Festival and collaborated with artists such as Odd Cosmic. This curiosity and drive led me to dedicate thousands of hours to hone my craft and share my music with the world. Now, I'm ready to take the next step and bring my musical talents to Japan.

My Plan

I'm set to move to Japan in September 2024 and begin an 18-month intensive language course at SAMU Language School in October. I'm already in the process of obtaining a student visa. After completing language school, I plan to further my education at the Tokyo School of Music for 2 years to attain a degree in Musical Composition. This educational journey will provide me with the language skills and musical expertise to pursue my dream of becoming a professional musician in Japan.

Moving to a new country is a significant and costly endeavor. Your generous contributions will go towards:
