My Travel Story
My name is Nilton, and I’m incredibly excited to share something that means the world to me. I’ve been given the opportunity to volunteer in Angola, and this experience is more than just a trip, it’s a meaningful step toward achieving my dreams and making a positive impact in the lives of others.
For several weeks, I’ll be working hands on with children and youth in underserved communities, offering support, education, and care in places where it’s deeply needed. Many of these children face daily challenges such as poverty, limited access to school, and difficult living conditions. My goal is to be a helping hand, a source of encouragement, and a reminder that someone truly cares.
Whether I’m tutoring, organising creative activities, or simply being there to listen and uplift, I want to contribute in a way that empowers these young people and helps them feel seen and valued. I believe that kindness, presence, and connection can go a long way, especially in environments where hope can sometimes feel out of reach.
I chose Angola not only because it’s a country rich in culture and resilience, but because I know this journey will challenge me, teach me, and help me grow into the person I want to become. I hope to return with new perspectives, stronger values, and a heart even more committed to making a difference wherever I go.
