My Travel Story

Hello! My name is Vianey and I am an undergraduate student in the pre-PA track. I am so happy to announce that I have been given the opportunity to travel to Guatemala this upcoming June to participate in a medical mission trip, caring for the citizens of Antigua and surrounding cities! Over the last few months I have prayed for a mission work opportunity to come up. God is giving me this incredible opportunity to be able to spread his word while also helping a large community in Guatemala. 

I am currently a certified nurse aide and I will be traveling alongside many doctors, nurses, technicians etc. to provide free medical care in settings such as  operating rooms, free health clinics, bedside care and more! Antigua, although a large and beautiful city, lacks the resources to be able to provide its residents with the proper medical care due to the lack of education and funding in its healthcare system, leaving many of its citizens and their families without hope that they will ever see a healthy life again. I am eager to be a part of this trip and be able to be a part of the life changing experiences that I will witness while in Guatemala. I know that God will move in the lives of those we are destined to help, and also in my life. 

During this four week program I will also be getting to know the beautiful city of Antigua and surrounding areas. If you know me, you know one of my favorite activities is hiking and if you know me EVEN more, you know that my #1 bucket list hike is the Acatenango Volcano located in Guatemala. During my time in Guatemala I plan to do many hikes and excursions during the free time that our program will provide. Acatenango is on that list! I am eternally grateful that I am being given the opportunity to participate in this mission trip and also explore a new city.                                                                                                                                 

To attend this trip I will need to raise $3,500 before May 2nd, 2024. I hope that you all follow along in my journey and what God will teach me over the course of this program. If you feel led, I would greatly appreciate any donations! But more than anything, I am asking for your prayers.
