My Travel Story
My name is Fatima, and I am a mother of six beautiful children living in Afghanistan. Our lives have been turned upside down by a government that has brought fear and turmoil into our home. Each day, I wake up with the weight of the world on my shoulders, wanting nothing more than to protect my children from the violence and instability that surrounds us.
As a mother, my heart aches to see my children grow up in a place where their lives are constantly at risk. I have watched as our community has been torn apart, and I fear for the future of my children—ages 2 to 14—who deserve a chance to live in peace, to learn, and to dream of a better life. The threats we face are real, and every day I wonder if I will be able to keep them safe.
We have the opportunity to flee this danger and seek refuge in a safer country, but the journey is fraught with challenges.
