Help Me get to Ghana!

'The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.'

My name is Kennedy Hundley. I took my first trip overseas to Durban, South Africa when I was only 10 years old; where my love for Africa and traveling overall began. I recently attended The Hampton University for my freshman year. However, I am now in my 2nd year of college attending the College of Southern Maryland before I continue my education at another university. I have been selected to be a member of the 3GC Inc. Spring 2020 participant team. As a Team Member, I have the opportunity to travel to Ghana this March along with other students from Hampton University, Howard University, Clark Atlanta University, etc. and professor Dr. Booker Ammah, the 3GC coordinator, from Hampton University. This Spring trip will primarily focus on a new 3GC Initiative with a Women's Birth Center in Kumasi in trying to raise funds for resources to address infant mortality and women's death during childbirth.

3GC Inc. stands for Give. Gain. Grow. Collaborative. It is a 501 C 3 registered non-profit organization and their motto is: GIVE FREELY. GAIN DAILY. GROW CONSCIOUSLY. 3GC seeks to initiate, promote and increase traveling opportunities for all students of color. In Ghana, we are using a unique Pan-African Study Abroad model, to help foster commitments towards transforming  education. This trip aligns with my future goals as a travel blogger and international service learning. More information about previous trips and on 3GC Inc. can be found on www.weare3gc.org. At the end of the program we are required to share our research and present a vlog to our university documenting our experiences in Ghana, the visiting country’s Embassy and the general public.

The trip is $3800.00 in total and will consist of 13 consecutive days. I am asking that you help donate whatever you are willing to give to my study abroad trip. The money you donate will cover my flight, lodging, meals and other necessary fees. Below, I have my Fund My Traveling link posted and donations can be sent to my home address 4401 Telfair Blvd, Camp Springs, MD 20746, with checks made payable to Kennedy Hundley.

In an effort to lighten the financial burden for this, I am asking you to please make a financial contribution by clicking on the link below. In homage to the African Proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child”. No contribution is too great or too small. Thank You in advance for your support.
