My Travel Story

Do you remember your teenage years? Maybe full of laughs, parties, travels, and different friends to share the memories with.... Well, I had quite a different experience. While i watched my friends walk by my house laughing and on their way to a party, I was sitting in my wheelchair daycreaming od when I´d be able to walk again and feel my active adventurous lifestyle come back to life.

I have an illness called Dysautonomia, and this illness took away my freedom at 13- years-old. It took my ability to walk, stand, and even laugh sometimes. It took me 3 years to get diagnosed and 4 to finally get a treatment that worked. I was in and out of the hospital every week getting infusions, and while getting these lengthy infusions, I daydreamed, researched, and planned what travels I´d make when I was finally better (not letting go of hope that i´d be able to get my life back). After a year of infusions, at 19, I finally healed my body and built back up my muscled to take my first trip outside of Canada.... I was a new person, and thats where my life of travel started.

Travel helps me find myself, understand different cultures, help and be helped by others, meet amazing people, and find what I want to do with my life. I love to volunteer abroad in animal rescues/shelters, I have also volunteered in a Monkey sanctuary in Spain. My dream is to start a care home for people with Chroniuc illnesses who want to be dependent, but still need assistance. I also want to create an animal sanctuary to help with mental health and of course the health and safety of animals.

It´s been hard to find jobs due to covid, when you don´t have experience and you still have a chronic illness that drains your energy quickly. I do what I can, but I barely make it by.

I am beyond greatful for any donation, anything helps! I hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy in these times.
