My Travel Story

Hi everyone! This June I'll be traveling to Scotland for two weeks to 3D scan historic monuments for preservation on a faculty led trip through Oregon State University. The opportunity to use modern technology to preserve historic is important to me because technology will continue to develop around the world, while structures and art that have been here much longer than you and I will continue to be notable. Modern technology is becoming more important for keeping history available worldwide, and visiting Edinburgh and Oban with these goals in mind makes the trip even more incredible, as me and my classmates are the ones using technology to do so. I plan to take all that comes with this internation journey and apply it to my future career, appreciate modern technology on a historical level, and explore the wonders and beauty of Scotland. This will be my first venture to Europe, and I am incredibly lucky to have been accepted for this program. Although I have applied for scholarships, I intend to be paying for this trip primarily out of pocket. Budgeting for flights, tuition, food, etc. has been a priority of mine, and I hope to alleviate some of the financial stress through fundraising.
