My Travel Story

The "Healing the Mother Wound" retreat is a transformative 3-day experience where women explore the deep emotional impact of their mother-daughter relationship. Through guided workshops, interactive activities, and group discussions, participants will learn to overcome personal barriers, embrace self-love, and build healthier relationships.

This retreat takes place from May 9th to May 11th, 2025, in the beautiful Ardennes, Belgium. Hosted by Saskia Bedford and Thaninga Fulani, the retreat provides a safe space for women to connect, reflect, and heal together.

Why Are We Raising Funds?
We want to ensure this opportunity is accessible to two incredible women from Amsterdam who cannot afford the full cost of the retreat. Additionally, we need funds to cover transportation for the group from Amsterdam to Belgium.

Your contributions will help us:

Provide a 50% reduced fee for two participants with minimum income (€325,- per person).
Cover the cost of group transportation (€2340,- for a minibus).
Our Total Goal: €2,990

Why This Retreat Matters
Many women carry unspoken emotional wounds tied to their relationships with their mothers. These wounds can limit their confidence, joy, and connection with others. This retreat is a powerful opportunity to break free from those patterns and step into a life of self-love and empowerment.

By supporting this campaign, you’re not just helping two women; you’re contributing to a ripple effect of healing and empowerment that will extend to their families and communities.

    Asking For Help Is Difficult
So, asking for money is always difficult. Especially when you see that after you had the balls to do it, no one is funding your travel. We have also applied for funds at our municipality, but this is denied, because of the location. Since its applied in Amsterdam, the retreat has to take place in Amsterdam. We think it's important to do healing work in areas with quiet nature. Amsterdam is not a candidate and the Belgium Ardennes are!
We ask for 'just' 3.000 people to donate 1 euro and we are good to go! Thank you in advance people.

You've hopefully read the professional story about why this retreat is important for people, in this case women.
Accept the fact that this is a dream of the partner I'm collaborating with, it's also a healing journey for ourselves.
We both have a motherwound. And with every session we learn, heal and grow.
I know by own experience that knowing, acknowledging, accepting and healing your motherwound is hard work and yet amazing. The life that unfolts in front of you is more than worth it. That is wat we wish for every (woman)one and to our planet. Imagine that we become more balanced, loving, caring and understanding humans, because we know and totally accept who we are.
For us, these are the main reasons to host this retreat.

On February 14 (Valentinesday) we have our 6-8 weekly event 'queens round table talk'. This is the 7th edition. And during our talks we discuss and learn from each other about subjects in a woman's life. This edition, on Valentine day, is about the motherwound in relation to Selflove. We are going to give Valentines day a whole knew meaning. We turn Valentines day into an internal event and not an external. Selflove before love for the other.
The talk has to do with the subject of our retreat, so we will of course promote our retreat during this event to get participants.

On February 13, it is Selflove day. On that day we will start an online mini-challenge on Selflove and the motherwound.
It is in Dutch tho, but you can register here: https://laposta.nl/f/sskdvynks5zm.

Well we are off, thank you for reading and hopefully for support!

    Kind regards,
    Saskia & Thaninga
