I would like to tell you a little story about my amazing friend Albert. Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Albert experienced many challenges with the war and conflict happening in his country. Because of his resilient spirit, he raised goats as a child to make money so he could pay for his own primary education.

Fleeing as a refugee to Uganda when the violence became too severe, Albert was determined to make life better for the other youth there and started a non-profit focused on job training and advanced education for his peers.

I am SO excited that Albert received a scholarship to leave Africa for the first time to do a program with the stellar Watson Institute in Colorado (read more about them here: https://watson.is). However, the scholarship won’t cover the cost of airfare of $1,500 and tuition fee of $2,700. We missed the initial deadline and Albert had to defer the program by one semester. Our new deadline to raise at least $1,500 for the flight is February 10. We don’t want to defer again!

If any friends can give even a small gift, this will help further Albert’s legacy of helping refugee youth access education and skills that will fuel these bright futures. Thank you so much for your support!
