Help us create a summer of connection, language & culture!
My Travel Story
My name is Leslie Jenkins, and I’m a busy, passionate working soccer and PTA mom of two energetic boys, TJ (7) and Xander (4). Life as a director in healthcare SaaS and a mom of two little guys is always a whirlwind, but I wouldn't have it any other way. We're a family that loves learning, exploring, and creating memories together—so today, I’m reaching out to you with a dream close to my heart: a family trip to Paris next summer for an unforgettable cultural and language immersion experience.
A bit about us: I’m a first-generation immigrant from Martinique, and French has always been a part of my identity. It's more than just a language—it’s the bridge to a rich cultural history and a legacy I want to pass on to my boys. Both TJ and Xander have started their own journey with the language. Xander has been attending Le Petit Prince French International School of Boca Raton for the past two years, and TJ has taken French lessons there as well. Xander comes home singing French nursery rhymes, and TJ has taken an interest in French cooking and even helps me in the kitchen while trying out his new vocabulary!
But I know that language learning is so much more than classroom instruction. It’s about *living* the language—walking through streets steeped in history, tasting fresh croissants from a boulangerie, and hearing the lilting rhythm of native speakers all around you. That’s why I want to take them to Paris, to immerse them in the language and culture in a way that textbooks just can’t match.
This trip would include experiences that would open their young minds and spark a lifelong appreciation for the arts, history, and diversity. I can already picture us exploring the Louvre together, walking along the Seine at sunset, and marveling at the Eiffel Tower. We’ll spend mornings at language camps designed for kids, so TJ and Xander can improve their fluency while making friends from around the world. Afternoons will be spent soaking in the culture—visiting museums, parks, and bakeries where they can practice their French in real-time.
As a mom, I want to give my boys every opportunity to succeed—not just academically but as well-rounded, globally minded individuals. I want them to see themselves as part of something bigger, to know that their world isn’t limited to our neighborhood or even our state. This trip isn’t just a vacation; it’s an investment in their education, confidence, and future.
Of course, taking a trip like this as a family of three is no small undertaking. That’s where I’m humbly asking for your help. Between flights, accommodations, and program fees for the boys’ language camps, the costs add up quickly. Every contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward making this dream a reality for our family.
If you’ve ever dreamed of walking the streets of Paris, speaking a new language, or seeing the world through your children’s eyes, I hope you’ll see a piece of yourself in our story. By supporting us, you’ll be giving TJ and Xander a gift that will shape them for a lifetime—a summer of learning, bonding, and cultural discovery that they’ll carry with them forever.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and merci beaucoup for helping us make it come true!
With love, gratitude, and excitement,
Leslie Jenkins and family
