Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read my campaign.
I am beyond excited to say I recently got accepted to complete a dance internship abroad in Barcelona this summer, however, it is no easy feat to travel abroad.

WHO AM I?
My name is Lexi Zdanov. I was born and raised in Chicago where I began dancing at the age of 10. I found my home within the Chicago Urban Dance Community and competed with Fusion Dance Company for upward of 10 years.  I am currently a double major in Dance and Health Science (pre-physical therapy) at Chapman University. After I complete my degrees, I hope to blend my two majors together as a physical therapist for dancers, whilst pursuing a professional career in dance of my own.

WHY BARCELONA?
Growing up in a full immersion Spanish program, it has always been my dream to work abroad in Spain with the goal of solidifying all the Spanish I had learned over those years. I knew there would be no better way to experience a countries culture than through what I am most passionate about: dance. Thus, I can not wait to partake in an internship in which I can learn alongside the talented dancers of Barcelona. I see myself as a nomad and can envision myself working abroad or traveling with a dance company (as a member or as a physical therapist). I hope that through my internship, I can find my second home in Barcelona and make lasting connections within the dance community. 

WHAT ELSE?
In addition to my internship in Barcelona, I will be completing a capstone project in which I hope to highlight the various urban dance communities in Barcelona through film photography. I hope to write about the impact dance has on bringing people together, as I have seen first hand through the Chicago Urban Dance Community.
