My Travel Story
Lily Pieron and Remy McDowell, are here to seek your support for our upcoming volunteer internship in Southeast Asia! We're thrilled to partner with International Volunteer HQ, a company committed to fostering positive change through regenerative travel. This transformation transcends not only the communities they serve but also extends to the volunteers involved.
Our mission involves active participation in the environmental conservation program, where we'll be hands-on at mangrove nurseries and delivering vital environmental education to local youth. Our focus centers on research, planning, and educating community members, especially children, about the critical importance of sustainable environmental practices.
Our intended volunteer period spans from February to April 2024, and we're pursuing this endeavor to earn academic credit for a community internship in Southeast Asia. Your support in this venture is greatly appreciated!
Lily, currently a junior at Fort Lewis College, is pursuing a major in sociology, complemented by a minor in environmental policy and a certificate in regenerative food systems. Her vision for this internship is to establish meaningful connections within the local community and acquire fresh insights into the world of regenerative agriculture in an international context. She is ready to open herself up to a new world of possibilities abroad.
Remy is a junior at Fort Lewis College pursuing a major in Environmental Conservation and Management with a minor in Sociology. She is also working towards a regenerative food certificate. This internship opportunity will not only support all three of her educational pursuits but also provide her with lifelong skills that will be explored through working with a community to combat environmental changes and challenges. Learning from and with the community while bringing her knowledge to the table, will create space for an undeniably rich experience. Her goals are to go in with an open mind and heart, ready to make meaning of her passions by connecting with people in ways that make a difference.
