My Travel Story

I am currently a student at the University of Central Florida. For the Fall of 2017, I am going to study abroad in Korea University for Finance with TEAN.  It is one of the Top 5 ranking universities in South Korea and is on par with the Ivy league schools in America. It is nerve wrecking to think about being in another country with a completely different culture, but I think it is going to be important for me in order to mature in my career life and life in general. I want to see how well I can adapt to a new setting that I am really unfamiliar with. These are aspects of life that know I have to overcome because when I officially start job seeking in my career as a Financial Advisor, I am going to have to adapt to the organizational culture of the job when I first get hired. I am also really passionate about this because I am a Hispanic young lady, so not only am I a foreigner, which currently only 3% of the population are foreigners, but I am also a woman. I am aware that Asian countries are a Patriarch society and that woman is not seen as equal status to men, especially in the business world. My hope is to really prove that gender really means nothing. If someone is qualified to perform their objectives and accomplish the company goals, then race, religion, gender, or anything else that might differentiate us should be overlooked. I really am hoping to accomplish this by seeking business internships while I am over there studying abroad. That way I can grasp what the business culture is like and to prove to them that anyone is qualified to perform their task despite being male or female. I know this is not possible to accomplish in the duration that I am going to be staying in Seoul, but if I could just start the spark and the rest follows then that will be more than enough for me! I chose Seoul for a number of reasons, the food, the culture, the language and KPOP of course! It is a city where I know I can learn more about myself and how to embrace the difficulties that life might throw at me. This trip means the world to me because it is something I have really been dreaming about since I have started college at UCF and if you could be a part of this journey with me than it would be all the better. I really hope that you could relate to my passion and that we can change the world together one step at a time. I would really appreciate any type of help and please expect presents when I return ^.^!

 Thank you! 감삽니다!
