Hi, my name is Tyler Denfeld. I am a husband and father of three from Sierra Vista, Arizona, and I am currently a student in the ASU W. P. Carey School of Business MBA program. I am raising funds to participate in the ASU Global Education Office (GEO) Global Immersion Course, Global Gateway Ireland Program (GGIP): MBA Doing Business in Dublin (May 9–16, 2026).
This is not a sightseeing trip. It is a for-credit MBA global immersion (WPC 591 – 3 credits) designed to help graduate students strengthen real-world international business skills. During the program, I will visit multinational companies and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), learn directly from business leaders in Ireland, and apply the knowledge gained in my MBA program to real-world challenges that companies face. The experience also includes cultural excursions and site visits that deepen our understanding of how business is shaped by history, people, and place.
My passion for this opportunity is rooted in my background and my future goals. I served in the United States Army from 1999 to 2020, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer after deployments supporting Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan), Operation Inherent Resolve (Iraq), Operation Atlantic Resolve (Europe), and Operation Spartan Shield (Southwest Asia). I learned leadership through real responsibility, leading teams, solving complex problems, and staying mission-focused. Now I am applying that same drive to my education and professional growth as I transition fully into the next chapter of leadership in business and public service.
I chose Dublin, Ireland, because it is a significant hub for global business and innovation, and this program provides direct access to organizations operating in an international environment. The skills gained, cross-cultural communication, global strategy, and understanding how companies compete and collaborate across borders, will enhance my leadership, decision-making, and career contributions.
Your donation helps cover the costs associated with participation, including program fees and travel expenses. Most importantly, your support is an investment in what I will do after this experience. I plan to pay it forward by sharing key takeaways with my classmates and professional network, what I learned from company visits, what surprised me about doing business globally, and practical lessons that others can use.
If you can contribute, thank you for helping me represent ASU W. P. Carey through this GEO program and bring this global learning experience back home. Any amount makes a difference, and I genuinely appreciate your support.
