My Travel Story

It is my lifelong goal to travel the world and experience as many cultures as possible. I will begin my journey this July in Edinburgh, Scotland! There are many ways to help me accomplish my goal including sharing my story on social media, donating, or simply giving advice! Anything and everything helps, and I am ever so grateful. It means the world!
A little bit of background as to why I chose Scotland... My great grandparents emigrated from Scotland (Glasgow and Edinburgh) in the early 1900's. My family then found its way, magically, to a little Scottish suburb named Glendora. Here, I was raised surrounded by the foothills and Scottish traditions. In high school, I was blessed to be a part of the Glendora Tartan Marching Band and Pageantry where I learned traditional Scottish dances and competed against other high schools. We stood out because of our unwaivering traditions and were invited to perform in the 2014 Rose Parade. It was the opportunity of a lifetime! 
In Scotland, I would like to apply my experiences in high school and to explore the culture more so. It would be a dream to perform The Fling with Scottish dancers or to walk to class whilst my favorite bagpipe tune, Highland Cathedral, is being played on the corner. 
To make this dream a reality, I am fundraising as well as applying for scholarships and working part-time. There is so much you can do to show your support including sharing on social media, donating, lending your skills, and giving a word of advice! Anything and everything helps. Thank you so much. It really does mean the world!

    I have received a grant from UCSD amounting to $2300! I am so thankful for their generosity. This grant will pay for about one quarter of my study abroad costs.
