My Travel Story

Studying Abroad will expand my knowledge to see architecture in different ways, allow me to explore different cultures, and make new connections. The professional benefit of this opportunity is being able to show future employers different ways I was able to persevere through different obstacles in order to find a solution to problems. Skill sets I hope to gain through my education abroad program are better communication, practical, and creativity skills. Being in countries where they speak a different language than myself requires me to embed myself in new environments. This will teach me to listen more intently and look for interpersonal clues to relate and build relationships with others in the countries I visit. A practical skill I hope to learn is navigating new environments. I may be forced to think quickly and learn to adapt in order to solve my problems. Although I may not live in these countries my entire life, having these skills may come in handy when having to navigate a new city, learning how local residents operate, or just figuring out transportation routes. I hope to learn how to be more creative because this will help solve simple and complex problemsI hope to learn how to be creative when it comes to solving environmental and housing issues in the country I visit.
