My Travel Story

Hi! My name is Chase. I am currently a graduate student at Portland State University in the World Languages & Literature Department studying Germanic Studies. I started at community college in my early twenties and have worked 3/4-full time through my entire academic career to get to this point. I've spent the last 10 years working as an educator in various capacities and now work as a substitute teacher. My goal is to start a PhD program next year! To help make that dream a reality, I applied to study for 1 year in Germany, and was approved! Unfortunately, PSU has frozen federal financial aid for study abroad programs. I have no idea why they've done this, however, it is threatening to take away this life-long dream and important career goal. That's where you can help! I am hoping that if I can raise enough with Fund My Travel, that my family and friends will be able to afford the rest!
