My Travel Story

This is my precious girlfriend. We have both been down some dark roads since the world opened back up following the COVID-19 Pandemic.

I am a victim of identity theft which led to a few years on the street. In could not get a decent job because of my credit scores and background. The bad actor impersonated me in an attempt to claim my identity. With no income, I eventually ended up homeless in the street with my fawn staffordshire, Shadow. For years we endured this lifestyle, but we never gave up fighting or looking for the way out.

She was much stronger, and good thing, too. I am a veteran of the United States Army, yet some of her stories terrifyingly disturbing to even me The girl in the video is indeed my partner in crime. That girl characterizes her strength. I cannot, nor will I talk specifically about what she endured, but that happy girl in the video was a facade she puts on because she doesn't want to burden you or me or, even her family. That girl smiling and laughing throughout the video was actually suffering abuses untold- some severe enough to make the devil blush.

But, my angel wasn't always so angelic and is currently serving the last part of her prison sentence. She has experienced darkness beyond what most people will experience in several lifetimes.

Yet we are fortunate to still be on this side of the ground. Life has been particularly dark for the two of us. Suddenly , light began to enter through the darkness. Though very dim at first, the light has grown. It is my belief that God heard our prayers as we cried out "Enough!" He saw the open and contrite hearts screaming for His salvation; He heard the groans coming from the depths of our souls. His heart was touch by our sincere and reverent pleas to rescue us before it was too late. He knew it was time. All the trials had served their purpose to join us together. We were about to find our guiding light- that light was each other. Everything we went through had been preparation for this singular moment in time. It's that moment when three hearts, not two, aline- God's, mine, and hers!

There is divine power in this alignment. Divine Forgiveness heals the bitterness that snuffed out the light. Divine Hope directs our path. The same path that brought us together. Most importantly, God gave us the cup of Divine Love which overflows with Mercy, cleansing the most wicked of hearts. Everything we had been through separately, He was going to use as the epoxy to bond us together. We cried out from different locations but all God heard was the unity of our cries.

It was then He remembered us and the reason we were made. All the disappointments, betrayals, and shortcomings prepared our hearts for this very moment. The three, not two , hearts aligned, reclaiming the freedom and joy we had lost so many years ago.

As we look to put all these things behind, we feel a trip away from everything and EVERYONE we know, will allow us to think clearly. It will allow us the time needed to reflect upon the poor choices we made that brought us to that dark spot we were lost. We can plan the rest of our lives. We will leave for this trip awkwardly, stumbling to get our footing at first. We will return boldly, full of power, and with a determined will for the Lord will guide us and be the light in this very dark world.
