My Travel Story

This trip is for around 20-30 excelling students from a very low socioeconomic town.  The intent of the trip is for three purposes.  First, is to see themselves outside their small town that has felt limiting their entire life.  Second is to teach them about the history of America and how we were formed and how we operate to this day.  The third and the final reason is leadership development.  We know experience builds leadership, and leadership give opportunity.  The students that go on this trip will have a requirement to present what they have learned to other faculty when they return from the trip.
  
I am the JROTC teacher for Wagener-Salley High School and have teamed up with the Science and Social Studies departments to get this opportunity for these outstanding young adults.  This trip will be an experience that these young students will never forget, and I am positive will be a blessing to them as an life altering experience.
