Maggie's volunteer trip to Zambia!
My Travel Story
Hello, my name is Maggie Fowler, and I am a current second year student at the University of Montana pursuing a degree in early childhood education and social work. This Summer I have the amazing opportunity to teach abroad in early childhood and primary educational facilities in Livinstone, Zambia.
This Childcare project is a wonderful opportunity for volunteers, like me, to assist at early childhood facilities that cater to a large number of children who live below the poverty line. Volunteers gain childcare experience while helping provide essential care, individual attention, education and development support that are crucial to helping these children build better futures for themselves and their families.
With a significant portion of children living under the poverty line in Zambia, many of these vulnerable children suffer from poor hygiene, inadequate education, insufficient food and little healthcare. Individualized attention and a focus on early development and education are crucial to breaking the cycle of poverty in Zambia.
I am so incredibly excited to learn abroad and take my passion into parts of the world that could benefit the most from loving caregivers!
