My Travel Story

My story…
I'm a girl from Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a tiny city in China (But I have to say it is a completely different today's China because of our British colonial past). We speak Cantonese but not Mandarin. We use Traditional Chinese but not Simplified Chinese. We have HKSAR passport but not PRC passport. We have Hong Kong dollars but not Chinese Yuan. More importantly, we have our unique culture.

Hong Kong is such a fast paced city that everyone has a fast paced life and everything in the city is changing everyday. The traditions and old things seem insignificant in our city. I sincerely hope to record them before these little things faded out. I love my home, Hong Kong so much that I would like to share the actual Hong Kong to the world. I would like to break the stereotype on Hong Kong through my stories.

This summer…
I will travel across Europe for 3 months and do something special!

I am planning to bring photos, books, food as well as STORIES from Hong Kong. I will share all these to YOU and everyone who is interested in this unfamiliar place. To share stories with hostel mates, passers-by, I wish someone is willing to spend 5-10 minutes to start a chit-chat with me and we exchange our stories.

I would need…
Your help. It is really expensive and hardly affordable for a teen to travel to Europe from Asia. I hope you can give a helping hand to me to support my trip and my cultural exchange project. I will keep finding different platforms and channels to share Hong Kong and my stories to all online. If you are willing to offer a column or any other online travel platform for me, please feel free to contact me. My email is mehlormehlor@gmail.com
