My Travel Story

For a long time now, I have wanted to volunteer in Africa, so... that is what I'm going to do! In April, I will be in Tanzania teaching children in a rural village of Arusha. I will be working with children aged 2-6 in schools, orphanges and childcare centres that are under-funded and under-resourced. I will be teaching the children basic English and Maths as well as supporting the general running of the centres, such as cooking, farm work and caring for the children and babies. I will also bring with me a load of pre-planned activities and fun lessons to engage the children. I am excited to expereince a different culture, and to come back to the current school I work at with a whole new outlook.

The money raised will go towards keeping myself safe whilst travelling (inncoulations such as yellow fever, typhoid and rabies etc), travelling to and from my placement and resources for the children, such as books and musical instruments (I plan on buying these when in Tanzania, contributing towards their economy).
