My Travel Story

Hi there,

My name is Ashley and I am super stoked to be starting my fundraising page for my Semester at Sea! On Semester at Sea, an undergraduate study abroad experience, I will be visiting 11 countries while finishing my undergraduate degree all while living and traveling on a boat. That means I will get to continue my education of FIlm and Anthropology while getting to experience complex cultures, customs, and art from all over the world. Sounds too good to be true, right? 

Well that's not to say that it isn't. From my research I will be taking the most rigorous courses I have ever taken and have to raise enough money to even get to go. I am setting my goal at $10,000 which is a crazy number, but neccessary to achieve my goals. I hope that I can share my experience on social media as well as with many of the Rotary Clubs throughout my local community. 

I have always been drawn to learning about different people and different cultures even at a young age. This experience would be an amazing oppurtunity to expand my world view, learn more about people different from me, and go to places that, especially as a woman, I likely wouldn't have been able to go before. I hope to use my experience to spread understanding and kindness with everyone I may meet. Hopefully, I'll be able to use my stories in my career moving forward, too! Any help would be SO greatly appreciated. Even $5 or even $1 can make a difference. I can't wait to share my journey with you.
