My Travel Story

Hi there! My name is Calridge, a 35-year-old proud South African husband and father, driven by a deep love for this beautiful country we call home. My dream has always been to explore South Africa from coast to coast — not just for myself, but with my family by my side.

We’re not a wealthy family, but we are rich in love, curiosity, and the desire to learn. That’s why we’ve launched this campaign — to raise funds for a once-in-a-lifetime family road trip across South Africa. From the rolling vineyards of the Western Cape to the wildlife of Kruger, the beaches of KwaZulu-Natal to the mountains of the Drakensberg — we want to experience it all, together.

Why This Journey Matters
This isn’t just a holiday. It’s a way for us to:

Reconnect as a family away from the pressures of daily life.
Educate our children through real-world experiences, culture, and history.
Create a legacy of memories that we can pass down for generations.
Promote local tourism by supporting small towns, local artisans, and eco-friendly stays.
As someone who believes in lifelong learning, I see this journey as an opportunity to grow — not just personally, but professionally. I’m documenting the trip to turn it into a family travel blog and eventually a digital travel guide for South African families on a budget.
