My Travel Story

Thanks For Helping Achieve My Dream After Surviving Cancer x

My husband and I have seen the darkest of times over the past few years.
Under the stress of finishing his high school education as COVID changed our world and then the final blow of betrayal and lies from friends he thought he could trust, our only child, our beautiful 18 year old son, fell into deep depression and took his own life in early 2021. The picture you see is one of the last happy moments we had travelling with our son.
For both my husband and I, it seemed as if there would never be another day to smile or laugh, but somehow our love for each other and for the spirit of our son carried us through.
But life had a few more challenges in store for us. In 2022 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and have spent much of the past 12 months going through treatment - mastectomy, radiation treatment, drug therapy, infection treatments - oh, and of course, a bout of COVID.
At this point in 2023, we feel that we need some way to recharge our batteries in order to move onto the last (say) 20 years of our lives--such as travelling to some place in the world that would lift our spirits and remind us of the beauty of the world we live in. A place like Canada or Alaska - I love mountains!
