"Help send my 71-year-old dad on the adventure of a lifetime
My Travel Story
My name is Nia Ta’ala, and I’m reaching out with love and hope to ask for your help in giving my dad — a humble and strong 71-year-old — the chance to reunite with his children in the United States for the first time in many years.
My father raised 7 of us children on his own after we lost our beloved mother in 2005. He never had much, but he gave us everything: love, guidance, and strength. He was both a mother and father to us, and he held our family together during the hardest times.
We’ve also faced great loss. My oldest brother passed away in 2003, and my youngest sister in 2016. My dad carries that grief quietly, always putting others first.
Now that we're grown, most of my siblings live in Utah and Texas with families of their own. I recently moved with my little family back to American Samoa, and being here again, I see how lonely it’s been for my dad. The same man who once cared for all of us — now lives alone.
His dream is simple: to visit his children and grandchildren in the U.S., to share time, stories, hugs, and laughter with the family he worked so hard to raise.
But before he can travel, he must visit the U.S. Embassy in Samoa to apply for his visa. Unfortunately, with only a small monthly Social Security check, he can’t afford the costs of travel and paperwork.
"This will be his first time traveling to the U.S., so I will be going with him to help with every step — from the embassy to boarding the plane, making sure everything goes smoothly and he’s comfortable with the process."
"Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and may God bless each and every one of you. I’m truly grateful for all the love and support. Nia Taala."
