Help me make my dream come true: travel to learn
My Travel Story
Hello! My name is Janina Marie Arndt, I’m currently 19 years old, and I’m about to make one of my biggest dreams come true: a Work and Travel year.
In less than half a year, I will (hopefully) graduate from high school with my Abitur. But before I spend the rest of my life in classrooms—either as a student or later as a teacher—I’ve decided to take a year off to travel after graduation.
To stay on track with my plan to start university in the fall semester of 2026, I have no more than nine months to save enough money for this adventure. Despite working hard alongside school and occasionally walking the neighbors' dogs, I’ve only managed to save enough for the initial costs. My dream destination is a journey through Asia. Since this isn’t exactly close to home, I want to save enough to begin this journey with confidence and financial security.
Why this journey is so important to me:
Personal Growth: The challenge of being alone in a foreign country and managing my life there will push me to grow as a person. I hope to gain experiences that I can look back on for the rest of my life.
Culture: I want to experience authentic connections with different cultures and people, as well as witness the diversity of the world—from traditions to modern-day life.
Future: I’m confident these experiences will play an important role in my future career. They won’t just shape me as a person but will also influence my approach to lesson planning, organization, and, most importantly, problem-solving.
