My Travel Story

Hi everyone!

My name is Sara Vallejo, I am a senior at California State University Long Beach, pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Classics with a minor in Anthropology, and plan to graduate December 2018.

I have just recently been accepted into a study abroad program for the Spring 2018 semester and I have never been more excited. Its a 90 day program in BARCELONA. I will be taking 1 Spanish Language course and 3 electives. I selected: Great 20th Century Artists/Digital Photography/Architecture and Urban Design: The Barcelona Example.

Studying abroad in Spain is a once in a lifetime educational experience. During my time there I will be given the opportunity to have a piece of the world as my classroom. Located in the heart of the city, the Barcelona School for International Studies (SIS) boasts the best local and international professors while maintaining small class sizes. Individualized attention, ongoing evaluation, group projects and a curriculum closely tied to the city set this university apart. Each course includes a variety of field studies, museum visits, and guided reflection-- and so much more.

For those of you like my family and friends who are close to me know that this is what I've always dreamt about and am now realizing. I have wanted to travel the world, and learn about all the people and see all the art for as long as I can remember. I want to add my value to the world and didn't think it would be possible for me, until now. This would be my first time traveling out of the US and it will be the first step of many in my success story.

If you are totally against donating or don't feel comfortable with it, then put me to work! I am not asking for handouts, I am not trying to beg for money, and I am not trying to guilt trip you into helping me fund this at all… BUT If you need a pet sitter, a baby sitter, a house sitter, a videographer, a photographer, a yard mower, a house cleaner, a meal cooker, or anything else you think I could do for you between now and December 25th… I’m your girl!

Alllllllllll of that being said, I created this to help make my study abroad dream become a reality. If you are able to donate, whether big or small, I am sincerely grateful for your generosity. But regardless of your donation, I appreciate that you took the time to read this all the way to the end.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I look forward to all of you being a part of this trip with me (:
