Imagine being the first in your family to dream beyond the borders of what’s known—where college isn’t just a goal, but a symbol of everything your parents worked for and sacrificed. This first-generation junior in high school isn’t just asking for help with a trip; they’re asking for a chance to live out a calling. Volunteering in the Philippines to serve in healthcare isn’t about padding a resume—it’s about reaching out with compassion, learning from a community with real medical needs, and bringing that experience back to build something greater. Every dollar given is not just funding a flight or a program—it’s investing in a young person’s courage to rise above statistics, to break cycles, and to give back to the world in a deeply human way. This is more than a fundraiser. It’s a chance to be part of someone’s transformation—and maybe even a small part of the lives they’ll touch along the way. This will let me change the pathway of my family and help me be one of the most successful people in my family that I can be. I think this will change the country due to being able to expose more and more people around me to help those who need it and help those who cannot reach it. This will impact my experience through college, helping me be able to look back on this and opening other others to these experiences, enabling more and more being able to help. I chose the Philippines due to how some talk undiscovered about it as well as how positive people will talk about it. I want to be able to come home and explain everybody how great it is and how much more we can all help. I'm passionate to be there for others help them mentally and physically.
