My Travel Story

Hi everyone!
My name is Haley, I am 17 years old, and I will be traveling to Arusha, Tanzania in July! I will be volunteering in childcare through an amazing organization called IVHQ, if you are interested, there is a link below!

I have always loved working with children and I am beyond excited to not only care for kids, but also meet people with the same goals. When I was little and someone would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would always say "a teacher!" without any hesitation. Although my dream job has changed, my love for children hasn't.

I work in a daycare in my small town in North Carolina and I truly love it. Even when I'm having a bad day, seeing the smiles on my kids' faces makes everything seem okay. I have learned so much from working with kids everyday and I hope I have made a positive difference in their lives.

My goal for this trip is to make an impact in the lives of the kids in Arusha. In the two weeks I will be there I want to put a smile on their little faces, hear their little giggles when we play peek-a-boo, and hold their little hands as we walk to the playground. Anything will mean so much to me and my family! Help me help the little hands in Africa!
