I really want to join the IDF but having only gone to three years of Jewish school, I don't know very much Hebrew. I want to get acquainted with Israel, the roads, the culture, and the langue before I join the IDF.
I want to do a two-semester gap year with Aardvark doing internships and learning as much as I can before I enlist. After those 2+ years in the IDF, I would like to attend college there and live there.
I know Israel is a controversial topic for some people and its something I'm passionate about after growing up surrounded by American and Israeli jews. My Hebrew teacher at my school and I were really close and I looked up to her a lot.
