How will this impact your education or career?
This trip will give me hands-on experience in global community health—something we don’t always get to see in a classroom or clinical setting. Providing check-ups, wound care, and vaccinations in underserved areas will deepen my understanding of public health, cultural humility, and resource-limited care. These are critical skills that will help shape me into a well-rounded, empathetic, and adaptable nurse. It’s a chance to grow both clinically and personally, while building my confidence and cultural competence.


How will you make a difference in the community?
We’ll be working directly with local people, many of whom have limited access to routine healthcare. By offering wound care, check-ups, and vaccinations, we’re helping prevent infections, detect early signs of illness, and support community wellness. While our time is short, the impact is lasting—through both the care we provide and the knowledge we exchange. My goal is to not just treat, but to connect, listen, and uplift.

Why are you passionate about this project?
I am becoming a nurse to help people, not just in hospitals but wherever the need is greatest. I’m passionate about this trip because it’s a chance to take that passion beyond my own community—to serve with purpose, to learn with humility, and to give with heart. I believe every person deserves access to basic healthcare, and I want to be part of making that a reality, even in a small way.

What makes this meaningful for you?
This isn’t just a trip—it’s a step toward the kind of nurse I aspire to be: someone who leads with compassion, sees people beyond their symptoms, and serves with cultural awareness and respect. It’s meaningful to know I can be part of something bigger than myself—contributing to global health, gaining new perspective, and hopefully making even a small difference in someone’s life.
