Kallan’s Kenyan adventure
My Travel Story
I am dyslexic and am fortunate enough to receive 1:1 support for literacy, through this I have learned lots of games, teaching methods and I am continually increasing my knowledge of phonics which could be beneficial in teaching children English.
I feel very passionate about this trip and want to pass on the help and support like I have received to these children so they too can achieve their full potential in education.
The company working alongside my school to organise this once in a lifetime experience is African Adventures. They provide humanitarian and financial support to 27 educational partner projects, helping to improve the lives of over 20,000 young people across Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar. These trips give volunteers the opportunity to embark on a life changing journey and contribute to development at the projects through teaching assistance, vital building work and sports coaching. The partner projects are run by local people and work in consultation with them to provide the support they require in order that their schools can grow and develop.
I will be organising and participating in various fundraising events to fund this adventure. I will be forever greatful to you for any donation regardless of the amount, as it means that I am one step closer to achieving my dream.
Thank you
