My Travel Story

by: Eric White Start Date: Oct 31, 2025 - End Date: Jul 30, 2026
Hello! My name is Eric White, and I’m currently a junior at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, pursuing my degree in Business Administration. I’m raising funds to help me study abroad in Tully Cross, Ireland, during my final semester of college — a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that will not only enrich my education but also help me grow personally and professionally.

The Aquinas Ireland Program, established in 1973, is one of the oldest and most respected college-led study abroad experiences in the country. The trip is entirely guided by Aquinas professors, combining academic learning with real-world cultural experiences. Students live, study, and engage with the local Irish community, gaining insights that simply can’t be found in a classroom.

Why Ireland?
Ireland has always fascinated me — from its rich history and breathtaking landscapes to its welcoming communities and deep sense of culture. Studying there will allow me to explore how local businesses, tourism, and community development thrive in an international context, giving me a broader perspective on global business practices.

This program isn’t just travel — it’s an immersive educational journey that connects faith, culture, and leadership. It’s an opportunity to grow academically while developing skills like adaptability, cross-cultural communication, and global awareness — all essential in today’s interconnected world.

Why This Matters to Me
This experience will have a lasting impact on my career and community involvement. I plan to use what I learn abroad to help bridge cultural and professional gaps in my future work — whether that’s through global business, nonprofit development, or community engagement. Bringing back the lessons and values from Ireland will allow me to share new perspectives and help others see the importance of international education and cooperation.

Funding Breakdown
The total estimated cost for this trip is around $8,000, which covers:

Round-trip airfare
Housing and utilities
Health and travel insurance
Excursions and field trips
Ireland residency permit
Additional costs include Aquinas tuition, internship fees, passport and visa expenses, transportation, meals, and other personal or emergency costs.

I am actively applying for scholarships and grants and will also contribute from my own savings. However, I can’t reach this goal alone — your support will truly make this dream possible.

How You Can Help
Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Your contribution directly supports not just my trip, but my education and future career. By helping me study abroad, you’re investing in a student who’s eager to learn, grow, and give back.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering a contribution to my journey. Your generosity will help me turn this incredible opportunity into reality — and I promise to make the most of it.
