My Travel Story

Hello, my name is Jieyi, and I’m a senior student majoring in Tourism Management. Traveling the world and becoming a global citizen has always been my dream. I believe there is so much this world has to offer, especially in terms of the education I’m receiving. I want the opportunity to learn new and enriching things while embracing new cultures. This truly is a dream, and with your support, I can make it a reality.

In 2025, I have the rare opportunity to study in Taiwan as a self-funded visiting student. This is an incredibly unique chance, as it is difficult for students from mainland China to go to Taiwan due to the restrictions on cross-strait exchanges. Studying in Taiwan will not only expand my academic knowledge but also immerse me in a vibrant culture and diverse perspectives, which are essential for my future career in tourism.

After my semester in Taiwan, I will join a paid summer internship in the U.S. from June to September. This internship will provide hands-on experience in the tourism industry, allowing me to apply what I’ve learned and gain invaluable skills that will be key to my career. It’s a stepping stone towards achieving my professional goals and making a lasting impact in the tourism industry.

I am deeply passionate about empowering women, and I believe this journey will help me become a strong, goal-oriented woman who is determined to make a positive difference.  I hope to inspire and support those persons pursuing careers in tourism industry. My mission is to create opportunities for cultural exchange and promote sustainable tourism practices, and I know these experiences will help me do just that.
